History
Established by Resolution No. 2025-74, passed on August 18, 2025, in accordance with and pursuant to Part 6 of the Recodified Tax Increment Financing Act, Public Act 57 of 2018 (“the Act”), of the State of Michigan as amended.
Duties
In accordance with Section 608 of the Act, the CIA Board of Directors (the “Authority Board”) provides supervision and control of the Old Village Corridor Improvement Authority (CIA); Establishes an Old Village Corridor Development Plan and Tax Increment Finance (TIF) Plan in conjunction with the City Commission; Adopts bylaws governing its procedures and rules regarding the holding of its meetings, all in accordance with Section 608(3) of the Act, and other applicable provisions in the Act and any other applicable statute; To provide for all other matters necessary and related thereto.
Appointments
The board shall consist of the mayor and six (6) members appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the City Commission, for four-year terms. Not less than one (1) member of the Authority Board shall be a resident of the development area or an area within one-half (1/2) mile of any part of the development area and not less than a majority of the members shall be persons having an ownership or business interest in property located within the development area. A member shall hold office until the member’s successor is appointed. [Original appointments: an equal number of members as near as is practicable shall be appointed for one (1) year, two (2) years, three (3) years, and four (4) years.]
