Voluntary Water Use Restrictions

Voluntary Water Use Restrictions

In an effort to help control future water rate increases and reduce potential instances of lower water pressure, the City of Plymouth is implementing voluntary water use restrictions this summer.

Residents are asked to voluntarily LIMIT WATER USE between the hours of 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. when the demand on the water system hits its peak.

If you choose to water your lawn, please do so between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. If there is a delay feature on your dishwasher or washing machine, please also set the timers to operate during non-peak times.

The Great Lakes Water Authority uses peak-time usage when determining a community's water rates, so following these guidelines will help keep our water bills down.
