Safe Citizen Program

Program Details

The City of Plymouth Police Department, in conjunction with the Plymouth Township Police Department, offers a program to our physically or mentally impaired residents who might walk away from their homes and be unable to communicate their name or address to authorities.

A file is maintained in the Police Department containing a photo and contact information for these citizens. In the event they become disoriented or lost, we will have the information available to identify the person. We will then contact the responsible person listed on their form and return them safely to their homes.

With assistance of Jack's Place for Autism, the City of Plymouth Police offers the following items for pickup, free of charge, at our front desk located inside Plymouth City Hall, 201 S. Main Street in downtown Plymouth: house/door stickers and vehicle clings.

When picking up these materials, please complete a Safe Citizen Form.  Although the completion of the form is not required, it will assist police and fire first responders in properly assisting those in need.
