WORKING AS AN ELECTION INSPECTOR

The Plymouth City Clerk’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Election Inspector. The position of Election Inspector is limited to working on designated election days in the City of Plymouth.  Inspectors must be a qualified, registered voter within the State of Michigan.

DUTIES

Precinct inspector must be able to:

o    Work closely with others

o    Assemble simple voting stations

o    Read and write legibly in the English language

o    Perform simple math calculations

o    Follow instructions provided by the precinct chairperson

o    Possess inter-personal skills to work with a diverse community population

o    Attend an educational training program (mandatory prior to working an election)

 

Election Inspectors are paid for their service! Below is a list of the typical rates of pay for a full day are: 

o    $160 Election Inspector

o    $180 Vice-Chair

o    $200 Chairperson

o    $20 per training session

View the new hire packet (for Inspectors that have never received a paycheck from the
City of Plymouth).  New Inspectors must complete, print, and attach a voided check to this packet and deliver it to the Clerk's office prior to working.
